Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

MSS405076 - Facilitate the development of a new product

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Confirm design brief for new product

  1. Review product design with customer and other key stakeholders to determine technical specifications, timelines, aesthetic, cost, sustainability and customer perceived value
  2. Determine, with input from key stakeholders, supply chain and production choices with potential benefits for sustainability and/or customer perceived value and implications for design brief
  3. Determine any regulatory, industry code or intellectual property (IP) requirements for product
  4. Identify any required tooling, process or equipment needs
  5. Confirm design brief, including relevant drawings
  6. Determine design brief conforms to organisation objectives and capability
  7. Obtain approval on total design brief from all relevant personnel
